Repreve: A collection created with the environment in mind

Earth-friendly

REPREVE is the world’s number one brand of recycled performance fiber. The high-quality fibers are made from 100% recycled materials, including post-consumer plastic bottles and pre-consumer waste. They are also certified and traceable.

The REPREVE brand was created to foster a sustainable world by diverting plastic bottles—billions of them—from landfills and oceans. REPREVE also collects and reuses industrial waste, starting with their own. Compared to virgin fiber, REPREVE helps to offset the use of petroleum, emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserving water and energy in the process.

With that being said, Gogo Jeans has decided to create a denim collection all while having the environment in mind. The latest Gogo Jeans Repreve Collection is compromised of denim constructions using recycled cotton, recycled polyester, and other sustainable yarns. Combining the advanced stretch technology with the superior sustainability and performance of Repreve recycled polyester fiber, Gogo Jeans' Repreve Collection offers the most advanced sustainable dual-core stretch denim on the market.

So, how do recycled plastic bottles become comfy jeans?

Well, it’s pretty simple. Plastic bottles are collected, ground, then melted into pellets which are spun into polyester yarn. From here, the recycled polyester is blended with cotton and stretchy elastane to create the flexible denim you know and love.

Repreve really does make a difference. Repreve is the world’s leading recycled performance fiber. So far, Repreve has repurposed 10 billion plastic bottles destined for landfill and aims to reach 20 billion by 2020. That’s something to feel good about.

Available online and in stores.
